Last week, Representatives John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) and Frederica Wilson (D-FL) were joined by other congressional colleagues in a press conference on Capitol Hill to announce the launch of a new Congressional Full Employment Caucus. During his remarks, Conyers said, "Our work with the Congressional Full Employment Caucus will ensure that the unemployment crisis never leaves Congress's radar until millions of hardworking Americans are able to find work once again."

The Full Employment Caucus will serve as a working group and platform for Members to identify solutions to our current unemployment crisis and advocate for legislative action. The group will regularly host economic experts and policy makers to discuss proven job-creation proposals and implement strategies for their adoption.

The National Urban League applauds the creation of this important entity, which aligns with our Jobs Rebuild America campaign and our ongoing efforts to get the Urban Jobs Act enacted, and looks forward to working with its members to address the jobs and unemployment crisis.
