Black Leadership Forum Inc

History

Founded in 1977 by Vernon Jordan, Dr. Dorothy Height, Coretta Scott King, Dr. Benjamin Hooks, Dr. Joseph Lowery and seven other national leaders, the Black Leadership Forum (BLF) is the umbrella organization for national African American Civil Rights, Civic and Professional Organizations. BLF has and continues to strategically link its member organizations together to advocate for the legislative and policy interest of Black people on the international, congressional, state, county and municipal levels.

Mission

The Black Leadership Forum strives to protect and advocate for the legislative and policy interest of African Americans on international, state, county and municipal levels. From environmental justices to sentencing disparities, BLF works hard to make sure that the needs of African American Community is not only expressed but also met through Public Policy.
