Essence and the National Urban League Partner for Career Zone

ESSENCE and the National Urban League partnered at the Essence Music Festival to help attendees find their dream jobs, advance their careers and expand their businesses. The Career Zone is part of the National Urban League's Jobs Rebuild America initiative to address the nation's employment crisis.

The National Urban League brought with them to New Orleans some of the top companies in the country to connect with thousands of prospective employees. Attendees were able to meet leading professionals who were actively recruiting for open positions as well as provided expert advice to help attendees increase their earning potential, and redesign their power in the workplace. Entrepreneurs also had the opportunity to network and get tips from small business experts.

"I was honored to participate in the Essence Festival and proud that the National Urban League partnered with Essence for the onsite Career Zone," said National Urban League President and CEO Marc Morial. "We conducted workshops on professional development and style, resume-writing, interviewing, and entrepreneurship, as well as held power-networking sessions. The Essence Festival has surely become an even bigger party, with an even deeper purpose."
