A gathering of world leaders representing NATO in Chicago was disrupted by a steady stream of protests – many of which originally were targeted at the G-8 summit which was moved from Chicago to Camp David in Maryland.

The NATO summit in Chicago this week was the scene for a broad range of protests, and NATO was not the only target. Some groups which planned to target the G-8 summit decided to converge on Chicago even after President Obama decided to move the G-8 meeting to Camp David.
Some activists were concerned that too many messages were clouding the air.

How much do you feel world events affect the daily lives of Americans?

1. The world is interlinked, financially and militarily so both NATO and G-8 activities have a huge impact on our daily lives

2. The protesters are wasting their time targeting the leaders of European nations; their actions don’t affect Americans at all

3. Other than military actions, I don’t see how Americans are affected by other country’s financial actions
